Wine:

Offering immediate pleasure, the 2021 Red Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots reveals itself with great delicacy, embodying a refined, fresh Pinot at perfect maturity. Beautiful sour cherry notes and subtle oak frame this vintage, which boasts a fresh structure and fine, present tannins. This bottle will age gracefully for another 8 to 10 years, but can also be enjoyed now with plenty of pleasure. Rated 93/100 by the Committee.

Purchase of grapes.
Plot of 37 ares 28, east-facing, 300 m altitude, vine age 45 years, clay-limestone subsoil. Production of 800 bottles.

Color:

Dark ruby red with brilliant carmine highlights.

Nose:

Delicate and fresh, a ripe Pinot with lovely Morello cherry notes, haloed by a rather restrained but present woodiness.

Palate:

with the fresh structure that characterizes the vintage, fine, present tannins, elegant oak, a bottle that has a future of around 8 to 10 years, you can start drinking it without any urgency but with great pleasure.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Gibelotte rabbit, roast quail, beef cheek melted in red wine and pommes grenailles, thick veal chop sautéed in a pan with chanterelle fricassee.
