Destined to age beautifully, the 2023 Saint-Joseph Red is a benchmark wine that easily rivals prestigious neighbors like the sought-after Domaine Gonon. Its captivating nose offers enticing aromas of smoky bacon, wild blackberry, and subtle peppery hints, all complemented by carefully managed oak aging. On the palate, it's dense, juicy, and refined, showcasing silky tannins and abundant fruit flavors. Already charming and approachable, it promises comfortable cellaring potential of 8 years or more in magnum format.Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification:
Hand harvested. Vines on the granite slopes of the communes of Mauves and Tournon. 70% de-stemmed harvest. Fermentation in open vats with punching down and pumping over twice a day for about 2 to 3 weeks. Aged for 12 months in 228 to 600 litre oak barrels.Color:
