Wine:

A new addition from Egly-Ouriet, the 'Les Vignes de Bisseuil' Brut Premier Cru showcases Chardonnay as its main focus, complemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It’s almost a mirror image, in a photographic sense, of the Pinot-dominant Ambonnay cuvées. Aged in oak, this Champagne captures the charm of Chardonnay-driven styles. Primarily from the 2019 harvest and with very low dosage, it reveals delicate aromas of flowers and almond. Crisp, finely structured, and vibrant, it finishes with a long, saline edge—a brilliant achievement from Francis Egly. Perfect at the start of a meal, pairing beautifully with raw fish or delicate dishes.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinified with indigenous yeasts and in oak barrels. Aged in cellar for 48 months before disgorging. Made from the 2019 harvest and 2018 (30%) et 2017 (20%). Unfiltered wine.

Dosage : 1 gr/l.

Color:

Clear and bright gold.4

Nose:

Aromas of flowers, lime blossom, a touch of aniseed, honeyed, completed with notes of almonds.

Palate:

Bright and finely chiseled, with a pure, energetic expression of Chardonnay. This Champagne dazzles with its chalky minerality, refined elegance, and a long, saline finish that leaves you wanting more.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Aperitif, sea bass tartar, pan-fried foie gras, scallops and langoustines, blue lobster from Brittany.

From now on

Egly-Ouriet epitomizes Champagne excellence, earning the highest accolade with a 4-star rating from the Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France. With nearly 17 hectares, including ten Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay, and two Premier Cru sites in Vrigny, Francis Egly has established an exceptional legacy, now continued by his son Charles and daughter Clémence. The unique balance and finesse of these wines set a classic standard that few can match.

From the very first cuvée, Egly-Ouriet’s style stands out, blending depth and precision and showcasing Pinot Noir with remarkable expertise. These are full-bodied Champagnes, crafted from exceptionally old vines, vinified in barrels, and aged patiently to reach their ideal expression. Each wine consistently offers purity, elegance, and complexity—a true reflection of its distinguished terroir.
